EMMA WHYBIRD

Director

Emma Whybird, our studio director, fell in love with dance at the age of 5.  With 11 years dance teaching experience, Emma's 'happy place' is in the studio with the students.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Education in 2004, Emma continued her study to become an accredited teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Module 2 certified teacher with Acrobatic Arts. Emma has 11 years experience choreographing dances for end of year concerts and competitions.

Emma prides herself on bringing a smile to all the children who walk through the studio door.  From the tiny dancer learning to skip, to the senior who gets her first ever aerial or first pair of pointe shoes, the look of excitement is one that should be cherished forever.

NICOLE DAVIS

Teacher

Dancing has been a part of Nicole’s life for over 25 years. Starting at the age of 4 and with 2 older sisters that also danced - most of her childhood was spent dancing at eisteddfods, performing in both solos and groups, and participating in youth ballet companies.
Nicole has completed her major CSTD exams in Ballet, Tap and Jazz, and is a Certified Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor and TAPfit instructor. She also enjoys learning different styles of choreography by participating in online dance classes and tutorials.
Before moving to the Whitsundays, Nicole spent 5 years teaching in the Ipswich/Toowoomba area sharing her knowledge of ballet, tap, contemporary and jazz with students in both studio and workshop settings and has spent the last 4 years teaching in the Whitsundays.
Nicole’s favourite thing about being in the studio is watching students develop their own confidence and style within each genre of dance.

PETREA VAIL

Teacher

Petrea first fell in love with dance at the age of 4 when she watched her cousin's dance concert.  Since that day she has danced her way through life, constantly tapping her feet and choreographing performances at school.  Petrea has been teaching dance for the last 4 years and sharing her passion and love for dance with her students in a safe and playful environment. Petrea has completed the ADA’s Little Gems teacher training and has also completed her Australasian Dance Association (ADA) accreditations. One thing Petrea loves most about being in the studio is watching the little babies smiles and the seniors’ dreams come to life when they become lost in their movements.

OLIVIA MCCALL

Teacher

Olivia is a long time local to the Whitsunday area and was first introduced to the world of dance at the age of 4. Olivia continued her dance journey for 14 years and during this time has practiced a variety of genres including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre and hip-hop. During her dance journey, Olivia successfully competed at many eisteddfods across Queensland and was a performing member of the Queensland Contemporary Youth Ballet Company (QCYB) for 2 years. In 2017, Olivia achieved her Advanced Ballet examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Over her many years of being a class helper, Olivia has developed a passion for sharing her love and knowledge of dance with students. She is very excited to be a part of our EDGE dance family. Olivia’s favourite thing about being in the studio is watching the students grow and helping them to achieve their goals.
